Clare Wine Show 2018
Each year one of the biggest events on the Clare Valley tourism calendar is the Clare Valley Regional Wine Show.
2018 marked the 24th year of this event and as it has in the past, this years event was held at the Clare Town Hall in October.
The annual event is a fantastic opportunity for the multitude of winemakers, as well as cellar door and winery workers to get together and socialize with the business owners and staff that market and sell the famous Clare Valley wines.
Whilst the award winning wines understandably take centre stage, the event is a celebration of everything that is great about the Clare Valley with the Sevenhill Hotel, as well as a number of other fantastic local businesses such as Terroir Auburn, Skillogalee & Watervale General Store working together to provide a variety of the countless number of culinary delicacies available in the region. We are so blessed to have such an amazing variety of high quality dining options available for locals and tourists alike.
The Sevenhill Hotel & their Head Chef were charged with making a notable first impression by providing canapes to the nearly 300 guests who travelled from all over South Australia to see, and more importantly (and fun!) taste, the 2018 award winning wines.
Canapes were served on the lawn outside the Town Hall and included Poached Greenslades Chicken Roulade on Garlic Toast with a Chermoula & Citrus Glaze, Coffin Bay Oysters Natural & with House Pickled Onions and a Shao Xing Wine Reduction. The feedback received is a credit to the all involved.
As part of the event, awards were handed out to the regions top wines and wineries with categories such as Cellar Door of the Year, awarded to our friends at Sevenhill Cellars, Best Wine of Show awarded to Woodvale Vinters, Chair of Judges Award, Best Producer, Best Exhibitor, and of course Best Wine of Show amongst many others.
